We arrived in New York this afternoon to sweltering heat and a rain storm (NOT part of the master plan!). Thankfully it took less than an hour to clear before beautiful clear sky and sunshine took over.
Our budget hotel on West 35th Street is slap bang in the middle of Manhattan (the hours of research paid off) so the rest of the afternoon was exciting as we stumbled on one famous NY landmark after another...the Empire State Building (see pic below, it's literally next door to us)...Times Square...Broadway...Macy's....5th Avenue...all way closer together than I'd remembered from my last trip here as a 19 year old backpacker, almost 16 years ago!
Tomorrow is my first official project day with a city tour planned around the coolest vintage thrift stores Manhattan has to offer. I'm looking forward to sharing the pictures with you during the day as wifi access allows...stay tuned.
